GY-56 is a low-cost digital infrared ranging sensor module.

Working voltage 3-5v, small power consumption, small size, easy installation.

Its working principle is that the infrared LED emits light, after irradiating the measured object, the return light is received by MCU, MCI, and the time difference is calculated > the distance is obtained. Direct output distance value.

There are two ways to read data in this module, namely serial UART (TTL level) +IIC (2-wire) mode.

PIN 5	SET	Set the upper and lower limit distance alarm value (voltage 0-3.3V)
PIN 6	OUT	Alarm value status output

Note: There are PS solder joints on the edge of the module, and the PS solder joint hardware selects the module working mode.

PS=1 (default, solder joints open)	Serial UART mode, Pin3 is TX, Pin4 is RX, TTL level
PS=0 (solder on solder)	In IIC mode, Pin3 is SCL and Pin4 is SDA. Users can read distance data according to the protocol.
